Attaining Credit for High School advanced technical Credit Courses

Attaining Credit for High School advanced technical Credit Courses

Student Responsibilities:

  • Complete articulated course(s) in junior and/or senior year of high school with a grade of at least 80 in those courses and any prerequisites. For a student to receive credit for high school courses taken as a freshman or sophomore, another articulated career and technology course in a coherent sequence must be taken as a junior or senior. A minimum grade of 80 must then be earned in both courses and any prerequisites.

  • Students enrolled in the early admission program must graduate from high school before articulated credit can be granted.

  • Complete all college and program admission requirements.

  • Enroll in Lone Star College System within 15 months of high school graduation AND apply for articulated credit within 15 months of high school graduation. Articulation for RNSG 1119 is extended to 36 months to allow time for admission to the Nursing Program.

  • The course for which credit is sought must be part of the student's degree plan (student must be a declared major in the program related to the course for which he/she is requesting articulated credit).

  • Complete at least 6 credit hours at Lone Star College System from courses listed in the student's degree plan (can be CLEP, AP, etc.). These 6 hours must be completed before articulated credit can be granted. Articulation for RNSG 1119 requires 10 additional credit hours instead of 6.
