Over 46% of our classrooms are equipped with computer and projector technology for use in day-to-day instruction (Electronic Classrooms). In addition, NHC supports a wireless network for internet access across the campus for remote use by our students, faculty and staff. Our Learning and Resource Center has over 200 recently updated computers for student use in doing class assignments and our Library has the latest hardware and software available to students and the community. We also offer our “CyberCafe” were students can check their email and “websurf”.

The heart of North Harris College’s technology offering is our new Digital Technology Center (DTEC) which has over 400 high-end computers in teaching and departmental labs. Instruction in video production, 3D animation, interactive media development, Microsoft and Cisco certification training, and GIS instruction are just some of the programs offered. In these labs, students have access to the latest software from Microsoft, Macromedia and Adobe, and the latest computer hardware from Dell and Apple.

To help with communication between students and Instructors, all students receive campus e-mail accounts, and access to our campus information portal, Campus Cruiser (link to cruiser). Students can apply, register and even check their grades through the WEB using My Records (link to myrecords.nhmccd.edu).

The Information Technology Services department is proud to support the needs of over 11,000 students, 1,000 faculty and staff, and close to 3,000 computers in an advanced network environment.
