NHC - Technology Advisory Council (NHC-TAC)
The goal of the NHC - Technology Advisory Council is to improve the use of information technology; this can only be accomplished when the core constants are involved in the technology planning process. The counsel will also act as a communications platform for all issues concerning information technology practices on campus and as a means to evaluate new and emerging technologies that may assist in the instructional mission of the college.

Duties

It is the responsibility of each member of the council to:

  • Provide feedback from their respective areas concerning any technology related issue
  • Communicate activities of the council to their respective areas on a regular basis
  • Work to improve the use of technology at North Harris College
  • Understand that it is not always a one-size fits all environment and sometimes we have to focus on the best fit.
  • Think “Big Picture” and what the impact could have for the campus community as a whole not just the area you represent.
New Composition of the NHC-TAC (Summer 2005)
The structure of the NHC-TAC is being changed to improve the council’s functionality. The first structure limited our ability to move forward in all respective areas of technology. Any member of the NHC-TAC can attend both meetings. This separation was established to improve the usefulness of both distinct groups. The council as a whole will meet one to two times per year, if necessary, to finalize and approve the NHC-Plans for Information Technology.
