Ron Colburn, Instructor/Coordinator
Ron’s enthusiastic personality and commitment to student success is unparallel. He brings an impressive resume to the Truck Driving Academy. He served in the United States Army for eight years, four of which he served as a drill sergeant. In 1978 Ron became an owner operator and drove over the road. Six years later he attended the University of Alabama and became a law enforcement officer. In 1990 he started his own truck driver training school and became a certified commercial driver’s license tester for the State of Tennessee. His program was recognized my several carriers as an excellent training provider.
In 2000 Ron moved to Texas and became a wonderful addition to the training staff at North Harris College. Ron’s experience and his dedication to the Academy and students can be seen in our graduates and their success everyday.
Martin Molina, Instructor/Coordinator
Martin brings an extensive, diverse background, vast knowledge, and impressive skill set to the Truck Driving Academy. He was an A.S.E. certified technician repairing collision damaged vehicles to factory specifications for 9 years. He progressed into the transportation industry and has spent the last 15 years in various roles. Martin began as a driver, and moved on to being an owner operator, fleet owner, driver trainer and then progressed into safety coordinator and operations manager positions. He also owned and operated a small transportation company. Martin’s commitment to our students, teaching style and personality drive the success of our Truck Driving Academy.
Daryl Casady, Instructor
After spending 4 years in the Air Force, Daryl owned and operated a sporting goods store in Iowa from 1954 - 1977. In 1978 he began his long career in the trucking industry when he became an owner-operator. In the mid 80’s Daryl found his way to Texas and began working for JB Hunt where he drove for another 8 years cross-country. Almost immediately he became a successful driver trainer for this industry leader. Daryl’s no-accident record speaks volumes for his abilities. He has been a part of the North Harris College Truck Driving Academy training team since 2000. He’s experience and teaching methods continue to enhance our program and provide our students with exceptional skills.
Billy Ross, Instructor
Billy started his truck driving career in 1985 leaving behind a career in management. He attended the American Truck Driving Academy in Waco, Texas. After school he began his new career as an independent contractor and ran a successful business for six years before moving on to an over-the-road company driver position with Tryco/Ryder Integrated Logistics. Billy became an integral part of the North Harris College Truck Driving Academy in April 2002 his positive outlook, concerned for our students, knowledge and skills have proven to be an essential part of the programs success.
