Admission Requirements

    Prospective students must possess a valid Texas driver's license.

    Prospective students must be at least 18 years old. (NOTE: Federal law requires drivers to be at least 21 years of age to cross a state line. Students under 21 will be restricted to Texas driving.)

    Prospective students must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently enough to converse with the general public, to understand the highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records.

    Prospective students must obtain a DOT Physical and a medical examiner’s certificate that he/she is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).

    Prospective students must submit to controlled substance testing as required by the Department of Transportation.
