All students enrolled in a clinical, practicum, cooperative education or internship which allows them to have direct contact with the public in a working environment are required to be covered by a liability insurance policy. This policy protects the student from possible losses resulting from any occurance or action on the part of the student which may lead to litigation.

NHMCCD carries a blanket liability policy in which students may participate at a modest fee and must enroll in an INSL class at the time of enrollment in the affected course. The coverage year is from September to the following August, and the fees are pro-rated if coverage is obtained in spring or summer semesters. Check with your program director or Melinda Kirtley for exact fee amounts for health programs.
