WARNING:Conditions make the formation of tornados possible. Police
and F&PO closely monitor weather reports and police emergency communications.
- F&PO secures loose materials.
- Check emergency equipment, hurricane supplies.
- Police notify the EMRT
WATCH: Funnel clouds have been sited in the immediate area.
- Area Vice Presidents activate telephone chain
- All personnel go to "safe areas", or interior rooms and hallways; away
from glass and loose debris.
- Police directly monitor conditions and decide when an all clear can be
announced.
- All clear sounded
- President decides if classes can resume, or if the college will close.
- College Closed: Police assist traffic to exit campus, secure all buildings.
- F&PO make any necessary immediate repairs, clear debris and hazards.
- In the event of a direct tornado strike on campus the EMRT will determine
if the college can continue to operate safely.
- Police will arrange for the care of any injured persons.
- Police will arrange for security of the campus.
- All but emergency personnel will vacate the area.
- Damage Control
F&PO will arrange with contractors for needed repairs.
- External Affairs will prepare press releases.
- Insurance representatives will be contacted by the Business Office
- Police will follow up on injuries
- EMRT will meet to evaluate the procedure and process.
- Police will record and photograph damage/injuries for recovery.
