38-40 Students who have college level writing scores but gray area reading

scores are recommended to take ENGL 0305.

WRITING 45+ WRITING 50+

42-44 Students who have college level reading scores but gray area writing

scores may go to ACAD 217, the English Department, and complete a

writing sample which may permit them to enter English 1301.

COMPASS 

READING 81+

WRITING 85+ And college level in reading

78-84 Students who have college level reading scores but gray area writing

scores may go to ACAD 217, the English Department, and complete

a writing sample which may permit them to enter English 1301.

ESSAY 5 If students have an 81 or better on the reading portion, at least a 59 on

the objective writing Portion, and a 5 on the essay portion, they may go

to ACAD 217, the English Department, and complete a writing sample

which may permit them to enter English 1301.

ESSAY 6 If students have an 81 or better on the reading portion and a 6 on the

essay portion, then, no matter what their reading scores, they may go to

ACAD 217, the English Department, and complete a writing sample

which may permit them to enter English 1301.

TASP

If a student has not passed the reading or writing section of the TASP, the student must participate in remediation. If a student has passed all of the required remedial classes, the student must enroll in a HUMD0100 TASP lab until the TASP test is taken and passed. Students may take HUMD0100 along with ENGL 1301.
