Policy on Attendance

        Since regular attendance is absolutely necessary for the successful completion of this course, the following rules will         be strictly enforced.

       A.  No more than 3 absences will be allowed. The fourth time you do not show up for class you will be dropped (A              negotiated reinstatement is possible.).  

      B.  Three tardies will count as one full absence.

     C.   Although I may drop you for non-attendance, do not count on it if you decide to withdraw from class.  Sometimes,             particularly toward the end of the semester, I do not have time to drop students.  Therefore, it is your responsibility to             formally drop the course should you be forced to withdraw.  However, I cannot drop you for non-attendance after             August 5.

Policy on Papers and Assignments

            A.        All major assignments must be completed for you to get a passing grade in this course. 

            B.         Quizzes worth fewer than 11 points cannot be made up for any reason.

            C.        You are responsible for knowing what the assignments are when you miss class.

Plagiarism

        A student who knowingly or through ignorance of the rules of citation, submits for evaluation the work of others disguised         as his own has committed an act of plagiarism.  If a student plagiarizes, he will receive a "0" for the submitted work.  See         the "Policy on Plagiarism" if you do not understand what plagiarism is.

Requirements

            You will be required to take three tests, a number of quizzes, and write two, 5-page, researched papers.
