Chinese Basics (Mandarin)

An Introduction to utilizing the Chinese language in business, travel and other communication needs. Emphasis is placed on the phonetics, and basic sentence structure. Strategies for learning a new language are also presented. Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology and relevant to the professional development of the student. Chinese I, Conversational (Mandarin)

Emphasis is on conversation while developing Chinese vocabulary and phraseology used for business, travel and other communication needs. Instruction in selected vocabulary, pronunciation, and basic structures used by those employed. Students purchase textbooks.

Chinese II, Conversational (Mandarin)

This course is a continuation of Chinese conversational skills focusing on idiomatic expressions and sentence structure. Instruction in selected vocabulary, pronunciation, and basic structures used by those employed. Chinese I or its equivalent is a prerequisite. Students purchase textbooks.
