Spanish Basics

This is an introduction to utilizing the Spanish language in business, travel and other communication needs. Emphasis is placed on the alphabet, phonics, and basic sentence structure. Strategies for learning a new language are also presented.

Emphasis is on conversation while developing Spanish vocabulary and phraseology used for business, travel and other communication needs. Students purchase textbooks.

Spanish II, Conversational

This is a continuation of Spanish conversational skills focusing on idiomatic expressions and sentence structure. Spanish I or its equivalent is a prerequisite. Students purchase textbooks.

Spanish III, Conversational

This course is designed to amplify the basic concepts learned in Spanish I and II with drills for mastery in basic structural patterns and functional vocabulary. Spanish II or its equivalent is a prerequisite. Students purchase textbooks.

Spanish IV, Conversational

Designed to build on the concepts and skills learned in Spanish I, II and III, this course provides further drills for mastery in structural patterns and functional vocabulary. Spanish III or the equivalent is a prerequisite. Students purchase textbooks.

Spanish V, Conversational

Modismos (idiomatic expressions), the subjunctive mood, and other constructions in Spanish are studied along with conversations and individual presentations in Spanish. This class is conducted in Spanish. Spanish IV or its equivalent is a prerequisite. Students purchase textbooks.

Spanish VI, Conversational

It you don't use it, you lose it! This is an on-going maintenance course designed to explore topics in Spanish culture, history, literature, and politics. Spanish V or its equivalent is a prerequisite.

Spanish Weekend I, Immersion
CEU: 3.0

This 30-hour intensive course will fully immerse the student in the Spanish language, culture and history.

Spanish Weekend II, Immersion
CEU: 3.0

This course is a continuation of Spanish Weekend I, Immersion. and will fully immerse the student in the Spanish language, culture and history. Prerequisite: Spanish Weekend I, Immersion or equivalent.
