| Wellness and Resource Fair at NHC Carver Center... Wellness and Resource Fair at NHC Carver Center June 8 The North Harris College � Carver Center, located at 2330 S. Victory, will be hosting a free Wellness and Resource Fair on Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Carver Center�s commons area.
Blood glucose screenings, blood pressure checks, sickle cell screenings, and dietary evaluations will all be a part of the free community health fair.
The event is being co-sponsored by Doctors Hospital Tidwell and Parkway.
Presenters and programs include: Dr. Stacy Jones, who is originally from the Acres Home community; Houston Blood Center; WIC (Women, Infants and Children); CHIPS Program (Insurance for children) presented by Families Under Urban and Social Attack (FUUSA); Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR); Acres Homes Police Storefront (fingerprinting); Aldine ISD Police Department; Sisterhood of Faith in Action (S.O.F.I.A); Yellow Rose Case Management; and the American Red Cross.
Additionally, the Xi Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will provide refreshments for all participants.
