North Harris College will be hosting Earth Fair on Thursday April 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free to all area residents, Earth Fair activities will be located in the college’s Academic Building, main hallway and surrounding areas.

Sponsored by NHC’s Earth Alliance student organization and the Recycling program, the event will showcase environmental groups and some of today’s newest recycling programs such as The Empty Exchange.

The Empty Exchange, in partnership with NHC and other community sources, recycles old inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and cell phones. Proceeds from the recycling project are used toward student scholarships.

Earth Fair will also include environmental education booths; community resource representatives, who will answer recycling questions; and an Earth Day presentation at noon.
