NHC boat mechanic course begins Mar. 23. Learn about your boat engine this winter before getting on the water next summer through North Harris College’s continuing education program

Boaters are you looking for a way to beat the wintertime blues? Are you longing for sunny days and the open water? Maybe you are ready to hit your favorite fishing hole or take your family waterskiing, but is your boat ready? Not sure? Check out “Basic Boat Motor Repair,” a course offered this spring through North Harris College’s continuing education program.

This course will introduce boat enthusiasts to proper maintenance and repair techniques for outboard motors. Learn how outboards work and how to assemble and disassemble a motor. The electrical and fuel systems and set-up methods are also covered. This class will be conducted in a laboratory environment. The course instructor has owned and operated a local marine motor repair company for more than 17 years. The course is offered one night a week on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Mar. 23 through May 4. The cost of the course is $104. For more information, call 281-618-5626.
