SSC counselors are available to present lectures and workshops on a variety of subjects related to their fields of expertise. Primarily, the Speakers Bureau offers NHC faculty at the main campus and at the Parkway and Carver Centers an opportunity to enhance classroom instruction by taking advantage of this resource. Topics include, but are not limited to, identification of personality type, learning styles, effective study skills, stress management, conflict resolution, self-esteem, career planning, decision making and many others. New Student Information Session (NSIS):
Student Orientation Sessions are required for all entering North Harris College students who have not earned college credits on a transcript. The orientation covers topics such as how to schedule classes, degrees/certificates offered at North Harris College, transfer information, how to choose courses, and campus resources. Orientations are offered during registration months in two formats. Students may sign up for a group session, or they may choose to view the CD version on an individual basis.
