Academic Internship for Peer Writing Tutors

  • This 3-credit hour English course offers weekly seminars in the writing process plus experience working as a writing tutor in the NHC Writing Center.
  • Pre-requisite: an A grade in English 1301 or 1302 or the recommendation of your English teacher. Students must have been on campus for at least one semester to register. Successful candidates will understand the writing process, have good (not perfect) grammar skills, and enjoy working with people.
  • · Class work involves selected readings, journal keeping, short papers, grammar review, tutor observations, and actual tutoring. Enrollment limited to 8 students. This course is taught fall and spring terms only.
