Standards of Academic Progress and Probation/Suspension Procedures - North Harris College Welcome back to NHC and the start of a new semester! This semester may present a new opportunity for you to reach to reach your academic goals! Although you are being held from registration at this time, NHC is committed to your success. Academic standards criteria have been established to monitor student progress so that college staff can intervene and explore options to assist students who have difficulty meeting minimum requirements for successful course or program completion. Please review your status as shown in the "Restrictions" area of your advising profile and follow the situation that pertains to you. For further explanation of your academic status and registration procedures, you may sign in at A-104 to speak with a counselor. Best Wishes! 18 Academic Probation Semester GPA and/or cumulative GPA is less than 2.0 Requirement: Attend probation/suspension meeting.Semester AND cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher Requirement: See a counselor in A-104 for "70% Course Completion Requirement" form and course approval. Our records indicate that you have completed less than 70% of your attempted credits during the last twelve months.19 Academic Suspension Semester GPA less than a 2.0 at the end of probationary semester Requirement: 1. Attend Probation/Suspension Meeting.or If student has proof* of prior attendance in a recent Probation/Suspension meeting, he/she may pick up a Suspension Appeal Form in the Student Success Center A-104 and proceed to step 2 below. (* A stamped Probation/Suspension meeting form is required for proof.)2. Appeal suspension with suspension coordinator in A-208.
