Procedures for Setting Up Advanced Placement Testing for Applied Technology

 Students who wish to receive credit by examination for courses in Automotive, Air Conditioning, Engineering Design Graphics, Electronics, and Welding may be referred to Janice Donner at the Assessment Center in Winship 156. Testing available at the following times:

Monday
7:30 am - 9:30 pm
Tuesday
8:30 am - 8:00 pm
Wednesday
8:30 am - 8:00 pm
Thursday
7:30 am - 9:30 pm
Friday
8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday
9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Since some tests may take up to three hours, students should arrive early enough to complete testing by the closing times listed above. 

Requirements for Testing: 

  1. A student cannot test out of a course they are currently enrolled in past the Official Day of Record. 
  2. A student may not take a test in a course that is a prerequisite for a class they have completed or are currently taking.
  3. A student can take a test in a course that they have been enrolled in and dropped.

Steps for Taking Test:

  1. The student needs to bring an advising profile which they can get from the admissions office.
  2. The student is required to bring a photo I.D. (driver's license or high school I.D.)
  3. The student reports to Janice Donner at the Test Center, Winship 156, who will fill out appropriate paperwork.
  4. The student takes the paperwork to the Business Office, Academic 107, to pay the $25.00 test fee.
  1. Janice Donner returns completed test to Department for grading.
  2. Department contacts student when test is graded. The student will pick up their test scores at the Applied Technology Office, Winship 260.
  3. Department returns completed test to Janice Donner, who will process paperwork for credit (if test passed).
