DFTG 1325- BLUEPRINT READING AND SKETCHING

A study of the different types of manufacturing blueprints and the application of each. Emphasis on machine blueprints. This course is designed to develop engineering documentation interpretation skills and includes orthographic drawings, freehand sketching, interpreting thread notations, welding symbols, solving related math equations, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and interpreted shop operations.

INMT 1391 - SPECIAL TOPICS: METAL CUTTING PRACTICES

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course is an introduction to metal removing techniques and includes precision measuring devices, cutting tools, materials selection, and techniques for drilling and milling, and chip formation.

INMT 1443 - CAD-CAM

Computer-assisted applications in integrating engineering graphics and manufacturing. Emphasis on the conversion of a working drawing using CAD-CAM software and related input and output devices to translate into machine code. Upon completion of this course the students shall be able to describe the proper uses of tooling; describe the "G" codes; write programs for the CNC TorCAM mil and lathe machine; and organize and edit CNC programs; and produce detail parts on the mill lathe.

Lathe operations with emphasis on proficiency practice in lathe operations

MCHN 2302 - INTEMEDIATE MILLING OPERATIONS

Milling operations with an emphasis on proficiency practice in mill operation.

INMT 2380 - COOPERATIVE EDUCATION - INDUSTRIAL/ MANUFACTURING/ TECHNOLOGY/ TECHNICIAN

Career related activities encountered in the student's area of specialization are offered through a cooperative agreement between the college, employer, and student. Under supervision of the college and the employer, the student combines classroom learning with work experience. Directly related to a technical discipline, specific learning objectives guide the student through a paid work experience.
