Attire
Participants and guests should dress comfortably. Men are encouraged to wear dark slacks, light colored shirts, and dark shoes. Women are encouraged to wear cool, street-length dresses, and low heel, dark shoes.
Cap & Gown
Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony must wear a cap and gown, which is available for purchase at the North Harris College Bookstore until Friday May 11, 2007 before 2:00 p.m. The cost is approximately $ 39.99 plus tax. You may contact the Bookstore at 281.618.5699.
Diplomas
All commencement participants will receive a commemorative diploma cover at the ceremony. All candidates will receive their diplomas through the mail after completion of degree requirements is certified. If you are a Spring Graduate diplomas will be mailed by June and if you are a summer graduate diplomas will be mailed by September.
Directions
If traveling from North Harris College, proceed north on Aldine Westfield approximately 1 miles to F M 1960. Turn west (turn left) on F M 1960 to Stuebner-Airline Rd turn right until you reach Champion Forest Baptist Church. If traveling from Beltway 8, take the Ella Blvd exit west and proceed 1 1/34 miles to Veterans Memorial. Turn right on Veterans Memorial proceed six miles downs to Cypresswood Blvd. Turn left on Cypresswood Bldv and proceed one mile down until you arrive at Stuebner-Airline Rd. Turn right at Champion Forest Baptist Church at 15555 Stuebner-Airline Dr. There is no charge for parking.
Guests
There is no limit to the number of guests you may invite.
Honors Program
Graduates of the
Honors Program should contact local college Honors Program sponsors for information on inclusion in the program.
Invitations
Commencement invitations may be purchased from the bookstore or other outside sources.
Logistics
Graduates must pick up a required seating card at 5:30 p.m. at the doors of the Choir Room at Champion Forest Baptist Church. Graduates assemble for processional lineup by 6:45 p.m. in the room designated by the college.
PTK Stoles
Graduates who are members of Phi Theta Kappa should contact local college PTK sponsors for information on ordering PTK stoles and tassels.
