North Harris College English
English courses at North Harris College are divided into three groups--traditional courses that are college-level and that transfer to four-year colleges and universities, developmental courses that help students overcome reading and writing deficiencies to make them ready for the traditional college-level courses, and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for those learning to speak and write English. This site contains information on Developmental English. For information on College-Level English or English as a Second Language, please go to the following sites:

Developmental English
The Developmental English Department offers Developmental Reading and Writing for students who have not placed into college level English. These courses are designed to improve students’ basic reading and writing skills. The developmental courses carry institutional credit but will not transfer and will not be used to meet degree requirements.
