North Harris College’s Law Enforcement Basic Peace Officer Academy located at the college’s Parkway Center, 250 N. Sam Houston Parkway E. is currently accepting applications for the upcoming fall 2007 semester basic peace officer courses, which begin Monday, Aug. 27. The academy offers both day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and night classes, 6 to 10 p.m. After successful completion of these courses, a person is eligible to take the state licensing examination to be a Peace Officer. Priority deadline for registration paperwork is July 31.
The program meets the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) requirements for a Peace Officer certification.
