North Harris College is currently accepting applications into the NHC Truck Driving Academy. High demand for drivers has led the college to offer two weekday classes and one weekend class which begin every month. Classes are six weeks in duration. TDA classes are small, give individual attention to all students, and boasts a 94 percent placement rate.
Trucking companies need drivers and they work hard to attract them to their company. Academy participants will have the opportunity to meet recruiters from over-the-road companies such as Covenant Transport, Kelly Truck Lines, Swift Transportation, USA Truck, and Werner Enterprises. Local Houston companies such as Alliant Food Service, Service Transport and many others also hire NHC qualified students.
After completing the six-week program, graduates can go from a minimum wage, dead-end job to earning $28,000 to $35,000 in the first year of driving alone. Picture it being your own boss, seeing the country, and being a part of an industry that keeps America moving! North Harris College is proud of its Truck Driving Academy.
