HOUSTON (Oct. 26, 07) – Each year North Harris College selects and honors outstanding instructors from among more than 380 part-time faculty members. Recently chosen to receive the college’s 2007 Adjunct Teacher Excellence Award were Ervin Baumeyer, Business and Economics; Stacey Courville, English as a Second Language, and William Dunnagan, History.
Adjunct faculty members bring valuable knowledge, industry experience, and diversity to the classroom. Many instructors have full-time jobs elsewhere or are retired professionals. They choose to teach because they want to interact with students and help direct the future careers.
