On Saturday, Nov. 10, Martin Molina, North Harris College’s Truck Driving Academy instructor drove the college’s colorful 18-wheeler into the Sam Houston Race Park and joined 65 other truckers as part of the Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics Texas World’s Largest Truck Convoy® (WLTC). WLTC is an international fund raising and awareness event, and a unique partnership between law enforcement and truckers to raise funds for Special Olympics so they can continue to train in year-round sports activities. Officers involved in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics have made the WLTC one of their many annual signature events. This year’s convoy traversed 22 miles roundtrip journeying up Highway 249 and back again to the Sam Houston Race Park where participates celebrated with lunch and entertainment.
North Harris College’s Truck Driving Academy is well-recognized and respected for the quality of its training, dedication of its instructors and staff, and compliance with the requirements of both federal and state agencies.
