Industrial Maintenance

Degree(s):

Certificate(s):

The program of Industrial Maintenance Technology (IMT) prepares students to enter several technology-driven fields. From manufacturing to food & beverage processing, the skills of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair will continue to be in high demand. The IMT program provides training in the areas of fluid power (hydraulics & pneumatics), basic electronics and instrumentation, machining, programmable logic control (PLC), motor control, and automation. Students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in IMT choose an area of specialization: electrical, welding, or hydraulics. The AAS in IMT allows students to become employable as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar position. The one-year Certificate in IMT covers several of the technical courses which are the foundation of the AAS degree. Students pursuing the Certificate in IMT become employable as Industrial/Manufacturing Operators, Equipment Operators, or similar position.

The general education core courses will transfer to a variety of colleges and universities. Several technical courses may transfer to technology-based bachelor degree programs. Contact an academic adviser for more details on the transferability of specific courses.
