HOUSTON (Dec. 13, 07) – Marketing communications professionals from the North Harris Montgomery Community College District (soon to be Lone Star College System) recently won regional Medallion awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) and affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges.
NHMCCD and its colleges received a total of 17 Medallion awards in the NCMPR District IV competition, which includes Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.
A gold award was garnered for the district’s spring 2007 radio ads while the 2007-2008 student catalog, annual report, and 2007 StarGala invitation, earned silver Medallion honors. Additionally, the district online newsletter achieved a bronze award.
Other gold Medallion winners include North Harris College taking three awards in the online services, logo design and fundraising/annual campaign categories. Kingwood College won the top award for its college video program entitled “Community NewsBreak.” Montgomery College earned two gold Medallions, one for brochure/flier series and a second Medallion for its “Vintage Baseball Poster” submission. Cy-Fair College also won first place in an alternate poster I category with its “Life’s a Trip” design.
Silver Medallions were awarded for Cy-Fair College’s “Cy-Fair College New Student Orientation” postcard and Kingwood College’s “Chancellor’s Tribute” college video production.
Three bronze Medallions rounded out the sweep of professional accolades. North Harris College was recognized for its computer-generated illustration “CE Times-Fast Track to Successes,” schedule cover and Cy-Fair College rated two bronze Medallions for its class schedule and brochure/flier.
NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges. Today, NCMPR has more than 1,500 members from nearly 600 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.
Lone Star College System consists of five colleges, including Cy-Fair, Kingwood, Montgomery, North Harris, and Tomball, six centers and Lone Star College-University Center.
