Authorities estimate that approximately 1,500 skills are tested daily when driving on a crowded freeway. The Lone Star College-North Harris Academy of Lifelong Learning is offering a chance to improve your driving skills with AARP's nation-wide program on Friday, 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Oct. 10 and 11, in the LSC-North Harris Continuing/Community Education Building, room CMED 206.
Review the "rules of the road" and how they may have changed since you first learned to drive. This is a classroom instruction only, no behind-the-wheel course. Completion of the certificate course may qualify you for a 10 percent discount on the collision portion of your car insurance.
The course is open to the community, ages 18 and older. Cost for the course is $10, payable at the door to the instructor for the study guide. Cash or check only and checks should be made payable to "AARP." This course is not eligible for use in dismissing a moving violation. For more information, call Carole Wiater, ALL program coordinator, at 281.765.7947.
