This application and instruction sheet will provide you with basic information necessary for admission to any of our five colleges: Lone Star College–CyFair, Lone Star College-Kingwood, Lone Star College–Montgomery, Lone Star College-North Harris, and Lone Star College–Tomball. Help with International Admissions.You must present the following items with your completed application forms:
- Lone Star College System International Student Application, completed and signed by applicant.
- Evidence of Financial Support, showing that adequate funding is available to pay for the applicant’s educational and living expenses.
Applicants who are self-sponsoring must submit the following:
Applicants sponsored by another source:
- Completed and signed Financial Responsibility Statement for International Student Sponsor.
- Statement from sponsor’s financial institution, including the present balance in U.S. dollars, average balance, and length of time the account has been active.
- Letter from sponsor’s employer indicating the position held, length of time at company, and annual salary earned.
- Proof of English Proficiency. Individuals who are not proficient in English upon arrival will be required to take the Compass ESL to be placed in the Intensive English Program. English proficiency can be assessed at the time of enrollment or by submitting one of the following:
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 530 or higher on the written version of TOEFL or 197 or higher on the computerized version to meet English proficiency requirements.
- Official transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university showing successful completion of coursework including a college-level writing course (not ESL).
- Official transcripts from a foreign high school or higher education institution where English is the primary language of instruction.
- Documented completion of the final level of an Intensive English Language Program approved by Lone Star College System.
- Evidence of High School Graduation or College Level Work, including official high school records, leaving certificates and college/university transcripts. Degree-seeking students that have college/university credits outside the U.S. and wish to transfer their credits to Lone Star College System, must submit a course-by-course evaluation by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (ACCRAO) International Education Services or a service that maintains current membership in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
- Transfer students from U.S. schools. For any F-1 student wishing to transfer to Lone Star College System, the following documents must be submitted to the campus in which they intend to enroll:
