Library Services For Alumni
- Alumni who live in the college district are eligible to obtain a community borrower's card. This card allows you to check out books, videos, and other circulating materials from any Lone Star College System college library. Materials may be returned to any location.
- All alumni may come to the library to use the library collections and computers.
- Online databases are accessible in the library only.
Library Services for Community
Community members are welcome to use the Lone Star College-North Harris Library.
Residents in the Lone Star College System service area (Aldine, Humble, Spring, New Caney, Tomball, Conroe, Willis, Splendora, Klein, Cy-Fair, and Magnolia ISD’s) who are high school age and up may obtain a library card. A photo ID and proof of address is necessary. Community cards expire one year from date of registration. The card is free. Montgomery County residents may use an adult MCMLS library card to check out materials from any of the Lone Star College System libraries.

Privileges - Get help from professional librarians in person, via chat, email or phone.
- Checkout books, government documents, CD’s, DVD’s, videos, and CD-ROMS.
- Place electronic requests for library materials from any Lone Star College System library or Montgomery County Memorial public library.
- Use the library’s study rooms and research computers.
- Use the library’s electronic resources while on campus.
- Request magazine articles from any Lone Star College System library.

Library Privileges for Lone Star College System Retirees
The Lone Star College System Library Executive Council implemented the Retiree Library Program in November 2003. The program was developed to recognize the years of service given to the District by retired faculty and staff.
Retiree may ask for this privilege at the Library’s Circulation Desk.
Privileges
- Remote access to library databases
- TexShare card enabling borrowing from TexShare libraries
- Interlibrary and intralibrary loan privileges
- Access to netLibrary electronic book collection
Circulation privileges:
- Two- week checkout for books, 1 week for videos. Two renewals allowed
- Three-day grace period on books
- Ability to place holds on circulating videos and books
Limitations
- Library card expires at 2 years and 9 months from date of issue
- Twenty item limit on checkouts, five books with same call number
- Fines are 25 cents/day, maximum of $3.00
One overdue or $1.00 fine triggers a block on record
