The Academic Institute for Majors (AIM) is a new one-semester incentive program designed to teach students the benefits of becoming more engaged within their college. Students qualifying for this exclusive program will benefit by meeting with faculty within their chosen major or field of study in order to achieve a deeper understanding of their major, career choice, and future educational goals and objectives. Students will also be able to meet students with common goals by attending campus wide activities and events that are related to their educational and/or career objectives. Other benefits to students participating in the program, include fostering a mentoring relationship with a faculty to encourage their success and a chance to be rewarded by becoming engaged within their college.
Students applying to AIM must meet the following criteria to participate:
- Are enrolled in at least 9 hours of college level coursework (excluding math)
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Have a declared major (students can view the AIM application to view available majors)
Prizes this semester include free print cards, dining cards, and a chance to win other valuable prizes donated from Campus and Corporate sponsors including a stay at the Marriott Hotel and airline tickets for two within the continental U.S. Eligible students can join by applying before September 30, 2005.
