Use the library’s article databases to find periodical (magazine, journal, newspaper) articles for your research. Many periodicals cover controversial issues, but the following online databases focus on presenting both sides of numerous issues.

• ACLU and Cyber-Liberties from American Civil Liberties Union, a staunch defender of personal rights as guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, provides regular updates and discussion of online censorship issues.
• American Library Association's Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
  provides information on the latest ruling that restricts federal funding of library programs for libraries that do not use filtering software.
• Electronic Frontiers Foundation Blue Ribbon Campaign for Free Speech Online from The Electronic Frontier Foundation, "a non-profit civil liberties organization" provides current information and background on Internet censorship legislation and issues.
• Filtering Porn? Maybe, Maybe Not from MSNBC News, August 9, 2000 discusses the need for parental supervision even when filters are installed on computers.
• WashingtonPost.com: The Communications Decency Act
  discusses the Supreme Court ruling, provides a history of the original legislation, and links to related sites.
