Jamie Mendoza joined NHC as coordinator of the Biology Learning Center, after working as a research assistant at a genetic research laboratory in the Houston area. After three years of undergraduate work at Texas A&M; University, she spent one year in veterinary school at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. She then returned to Texas A&M; University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.
Jamie is in charge of the daily operation of the Biology Learning Center, working both with faculty and students, and is available for tutoring and questions.
Any advice? - "Don't be afraid to take risks for something you love. Going to a tiny island in the Caribbean for vet school was one of the riskiest things I have ever done, but it was one of the best times of my life, and it affected me very profoundly."
