DON'T FORGET...An Information and Orientation Meeting is held each semester in the Continuing Education Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Bring a pen, transcripts, and a calculator!
All program applicants must meet the following basic requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Overall GPA minimum 2.5 on all university work attempted
- Content GPA minimum 2.5 on coursework necessary to qualify for the content area (use the Application Worksheet to verify that you qualify)
- Passing scores no older than five years on a TCP Qualifying Exam (TASP/THEA, Compass, SAT, GRE, ACT, or PRAXIS)
After attending an Informational Meeting and obtaining an application packet, applicants will be required to submit the following materials:
- Completed application
Application fee- $40.00 [non-refundable]
- Official transcripts from all colleges / universities attended
- Official Score Report for a TCP Qualifying Exam
- Resumé and/or portfolio with computer skills and related work experience
- Three professional recommendation letters (sent from the Reference person)
- An explanation of any criminal history concerns
Applicants who meet all academic and admission requirements will be scheduled for an Admissions Interview. Meeting all academic and admission requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.
Training Locations
Professional development, content specific, and other training will be scheduled at North Harris College. Classroom observations and internships will be conducted at local district schools.
