NURSING PROGRAM ADMISSION CRITERIA

• Completion of all requirements for admission as a fulltime student to NHMCCD
• Have a TASP status of Passed or complete the Student Success Initiative.
• Completion of the following courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or higher: BIOL 2401 Human Anatomy and Physiology I, ENGL 1301 Composition & Rhetoric I, and PSYC 2301General Psychology.
  
  
  A grade below a C, in any course required in the Associate Degree Nursing degree plan, will not be accepted.
  
  Biology courses submitted for program credit must be completed no more than five years prior to admission to the nursing program. Each Biology course cannot be repeated for a grade change (including a 'W' or 'I') more than once during the same five year period.
• Completion of the standardized Nursing Entrance Reading and Mathematics assessment testing. The cost of this test ($25) is the responsibility of the applicant. All prospective students must take the Entrance Examination. There are no exceptions. There will be no refunds of testing fees.
• Submission of a completed application packet to the Nursing Advisor, Winship 107A, by March 1, 2005 at 4:00 pm. No applications submitted after this day and time will be considered for admission.
• Applicants who have failed or withdrawn from any nursing program will be considered on an individual basis. Please submit letter of explanation with application.
• Students applying to the NHMCCD Nursing Programs must adhere to the Code of Conduct and other policies of the ADN Program included in the Student Handbook.

After the above have been received, applications will be ranked for placement into the nursing program in accordance with current guidelines. Please refer to the Selection Process section for details.
