College offers free Internet safety course for.... NHC offers free Internet safety course for parents July 25 The Internet is a great source of both education and entertainment, but like anything else, it makes sense to take a few basic precautions to ensure your Internet experience is a good one and to protect your family from certain Internet risks. North Harris College can help parents learn how to safely navigate the Internet. The college’s corporate and continuing education division is offering a free Internet safety course on July 25, 7 to 9 p.m. in room CE-203.
The two-hour seminar will help parents learn about the common dangers encountered by Internet users - especially children. Topics will include: popular types of filtering software and how they work; strategies for helping parents to monitor children’s use of the Internet; and strategies for making use of the Internet a family experience.
