Mission/Purpose
The Office of Institutional Research is tasked to provide data, assessment and analysis to support various aspects of the planning, decision and policymaking processes at North Harris College. This involves the development of comprehensive systems of information and evaluation that are used to assess how well NHC is fulfilling its mission regarding students, staff, classes, and college programs and services.
Examples of the kinds of data that Institutional Research can provide are:
- Academic performance and retention by course by subject by dept by division
- High School penetration data
- Demographics of the North Harris College students and its service area
- Top 20 classes
- Student enrollment by zip code
- Correlational analyses
- Student academic standing
- Specialized projects directed toward specific topics
