Associate of Applied Science Degree - Tech Prep

The Interpreter Training Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree, Tech Prep program, prepares graduates for entry-level careers as American Sign Language/English Interpreters. The Interpreter Training Technology program will provide graduates with a strong academic and technical foundation and the interpreting skills necessary for state license and/or national certification.

The Interpreter Training Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree, Tech Prep program, requires the completion of 65-66 semesters credit hours of coursework including 23-24 semester credit hours of general academic courses and 42 semester credit hours of technical course work. The program includes a supervised internship as a capstone external learning experience and integrates all instructional components of the program.

A Tech Prep Enhanced Skills Certificate is available upon completion of the degree. This certificate includes 13 semester credit hours coursework designed to provide additional interpreter skills.
