NURSING PROGRAM ADMISSION CRITERIA

  • Completion of all requirements for admission as a fulltime student to NHMCCD
  • Have a TASP status of Passed or Exempt.
  • Completion of the following courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 or higher: BIOL 2401, ENGL 1301, and PSYC 2301.

      A grade below a C, in any course required in the Associate Degree Nursing degree plan, will not be accepted.
    Biology courses submitted for program credit must be completed no more than five years prior to admission to the nursing program. Each Biology course cannot be repeated for a grade change (including a 'W' or 'I') more than once during the same five year period.
  • Completion of the standardized Nursing Entrance Reading and Mathematics assessment testing. The cost of this test ($25) is the responsibility of the applicant. All prospective students must take the Entrance Examination. There are no exceptions.
  • Submission of a completed application packet to the Nursing Advisor, Winship 160A, by March 1, 2004 at 4:00 pm. No applications submitted after this day and time will be considered for admission.

After the above have been received, applications will be ranked for placement into the nursing program in accordance with current guidelines. Please refer to the Selection Process section for details.
